Sylvie Brunet is the author of two previous novels, Nocturne le jeudi (Albin Michel, 1995) and Tout un univers (Albin Michel, 1996). She is also the author of Les mots de la fin du siècle (Belin, 1996) and D’où ça vient. Inventaire étymologique du français quotidien (Mots et Cie, 2000).
