Café Notes is Murphy’s second book. His first, Cold and Electric, a picaresque novel about a rock star’s adventures, was published in France by Entreligne in 1989 as well as in Germany (Nautilus) and Spain (Clip). An excerpt was published at the time in Rolling Stone magazine. Murphy moved to Paris in 1990, where he currently lives with his wife and son.
