Candice Hayat’s black and white illustrations in the margins and across the pages of La Chauffeuse de bus, combining cartoons and realistic renderings, mimic a child’s style while dramatizing Benjamin’s change of attitude toward Yvette. Hayat is a graduate of the École Estienne; her work has been selected for display at the Salon de Montreuil.
